We are still waiting on notes from this weeks meeting to be typed up, so I thought I would give a quick update. A proposal was passed to send out information on the Occupy the Board of Regents meeting comming up this week. Below is the information on this.
Board Of Regents Meeting
Date: Wednesday, February 15, 2012
Time: 3:30pm until 5:00pm
Where: Gates Hall, Room 133
Tired of increased tuition? Want to do something about it? Guess what, you can! Come to Gates Hall, Room 133 and tell the University of Washington Board of Regents yourself why it’s important to preserve the quality and accessibility of UW. Democracy is not a spectator sport, especially with our educational futures on the line. It’s vital that the board of regents see as many students as possible to show that we are the most important stakeholders in the UW’s budgeting process, and must be treated as such.
3:30 – 5 PM Students will be able to speak with our university’s regents. Tell your personal story and testify in favor of more funding for the UW or other issues important to you and your community.
To be guaranteed a chance to speak, sign up at regents@uw.edu, as there will be limited time for students to testify.
Share this event with your friends and spread the word!
